Acronis Bootable Media doesn't work in my computer. I get the error: (see attachment)
Video Mode Setup Error: Error 0x1480006
And then nothing happens. (I waited a while).
Tried booting it on another computer and it worked fine.
This is a brand-new computer with up-to-date BIOS in the computer and video cards. Video cards are two Nvidia Titan X Pascal. I downloaded the Acronis Bootable Media this morning, so it's the latest version of that, too.
I assume you are running the two Nvidia Titan X Pascal in SLI. These sort of things can happen when you have exotic video set-up. Not an area in which I have any expertise. (All my PCs use on-board video.) Not many people on the Forum at the moment as it is the middle of the night for the majority of forum members (not for me, I am in Australia). So, if you wait a few hours I am sure someone will be able to help.
Ian
No, I'm not running them in SLI. We use them for computation, not gaming.
I found some information about command line parameters to force particular video modes. I will try those next.
Even though this isn't exactly my problem (I don't get a 'garbled' display, I get nothing), perhaps if I can get past that error it will work.

Is it possible to make a 'WinPE' version of the Bootable Media for Acronis 2017? (Or is the bootable disk for 2017 already WinPE by default?)
I see no download of the plugin for this on my 'My Products' area of the site, and there's only a FAQ for making a WinPE version for Acronis 2015 (which I also have a licence for).
Robert, yes you can make WinPE Rescue Media and this is handled directly from the Bootable Rescue Media Builder tool by choosing this option - you will be directed to download the Windows 10 ADK which provides the PE part.
The MVP community have also put together a Script program that can make a customised version of the PE Media which can inject additional device drivers if needed, plus can incorporate a web browser and more in the media. See a link to this in my signature below.

Thanks. I just created the ISO for WinPE version. I presume that this boot disk includes the 'Clone' function as well (that's what I need) and not just recovery.... I will try it before I leave tonight. We're doing work on this machine now. We just want to clone the primary SSD onto a larger SSD.
Robert, please see post: 128231: [WARNING] CLONING - How NOT to do this!!! before you embark on doing a clone operation.
Thanks everyone! I created a 'WinPE' boot disk and now can run all the Acronis Utilities from it. Now that I've done it once, all the instructions made sense, but to someone who's 'switching back' from Mac to PC after a few years away (We didn't have things like UEFI, etc), a lot is still new to me.
And the warnings are well heeded, Steve. I made a complete backup the old-fashioned way first and if this clone to a bigger SSD fails, I will just restore my backup to it. But it's worth a try.
Robert, glad to have been able to help and hope all goes well when you do the clone.
